Crawling and Playing

February 16th, 2011

Oh look, a little obstacle. No problem! I can crawl over it!!

What can I explore next?

Adysen likes to pick out her own clothes in the morning. Often when I go in to get her when she wakes up, she is already getting dressed. Normally we have somewhere to go, but this day we didn't. So, I just let her wear this all day. She really likes purple socks!!

Hot Cereal

Every morning I ask Adysen what she wants for breakfast. 90% of the time she says "hot cereal." Really?! I ask her if she wants cheerios and she tells me "no, hot cereal." Okay...works for me!

I actually didn't think I liked oatmeal up until about a month ago. I had only had it a few times. Then I discovered that I could add fruit to my oatmeal! Yummy!! We now have oatmeal for breakfast nearly every day and I LOVE IT!!

This is my bowl of oatmeal from earlier this week. A few frozen blueberries, raspberries, pomegranates, slivered almonds, and a little sprinkle of sugar.

How do you like your oatmeal?

Blog Update

Well, I am almost caught up on the blog now. I just have to go back and do December. I've been putting it off because we have pictures that we uploaded onto cds that I haven't put on the computer yet. I finally decided that I would skip December and just get this year caught up to date. Sorry for the randomness of all the posts. I'll go back and backdate them later once people have a chance to look at them.

Random Pictures from January

Here are the rest of the pictures from January that made the cut. :) Lots of pictures of Kaitlynn. She went from scooting on her belly to full on crawling in January. It is fun to watch these girls grow!!

Pictures from Kaitlynn's 6 month birthday:

Up on her hands and knees.

Aww...Loving Sisters:

My Little Baker

Adysen loves to help me in the kitchen. On January 13th, I made some almond poppyseed muffins (click on the name for the recipe--I made them without the glaze. Next time I think I'll make them as bread and not muffins). They were delicious. Adysen called them cupcakes.

Adysen found the mini muffins cooling on the rack and decided they would fit perfectly in her cupcake pan. She walked over and got one muffin at a time and filled up her pan (I must not have gotten a picture of it full). Everyday she does something to amaze me. :)

I have the hardest time getting her to smile for the camera. :)

Cute Girls

Sunday, February 13th:

Kaitlynn is practicing standing next to the couch. She is getting so big! She was disappointed when she couldn't get up on her feet by herself. She can kneel by the couch on her own. I'll have to take some pictures of her kneeling. :)

Happy Valentine's Day

Adysen and I decorated sugar cookies for Valentine's Day. She enjoyed licking the icing off of her cookies. Yummy!!

This is Adysen's smile when we ask her to smile for the camera:

Lovebugs...I got the idea from Our Best Bites. I happened to already have the cookies made and ready to frost when they posted the lovebug idea on Friday.

Happy 27th Birthday

Alton's birthday was last week. I baked him a 5 layer chocolate cake. It was pretty yummy if I do say so myself. I used a cake mix and doctored it up using a modified version of this recipe:http://www.ourbestbites.com/2010/05/easy-white-cake.html.

Here are a couple of pictures of the girls. I worked on the cake during Adysen's nap. She was so excited to see it when she woke up. She said "Pretty happy birthday cake!" I love her compliments!!

Mischievous...

This morning while I was eating breakfast with Adysen I turned around and saw this...

Okay, this isn't really what I saw. I couldn't get the camera fast enough. So, I got the camera ready and went back to my breakfast.

A minute later she was at it again; this time I was ready!

Do you see what she is doing?! How old is she again?! 6 1/2 months!

Watch her legs in the next few pictures:

Yay! Puzzles!! Just what I was looking for!

Needless to say, I definitely have my hands full keeping up with these little girls. Kaitlynn's been crawling for over a month and is all over the place. And now this little mischief. Yikes! And Adysen is trying to do the dishes by herself as I type. Better run!

Oh, and maybe one of these days I'll get around to posting the December and January pictures.
