Last night for Family Night we went to Wheeler Historic Farm in Murray. It was really neat! Adysen loved it! She really enjoyed watching the ducks and geese. We will definitely be going back!!

Adysen's First Birthday

It is hard to believe that our little girl is now a year old. She has grown up so fast. We celebrated her birthday on Sunday with BreAna's family. They came down from Idaho to visit us. Adysen also unwrapped a few of her presents while we were talking to the Alexanders on Skype. It was sure nice to be able to share Adysen's birthday with our families.

I made Adysen's cake. I even made the fondant from scratch. It was a very messy, sticky job, but it tasted good. For the recipe click here. Alton helped assemble the cake and Anessa helped me roll out the fondant. It was fun. Adysen liked pulling the flowers off of her cake and then she tried to put them back on. :)

We also were able to meet Uncle Eric. We are excited to have him as part of our family. (Calene is getting married November 21st).

Aren't you a little young?

I am truly amazed at Adysen's love for technology! Especially cell phones!! I can see it already. "Not now Mommy, I'm busy talking to my friends.....Just let me send this one more text message." If you ever get a call from us and there is no one on the line, or if you just hear a bunch of baby babbling, Adysen was just calling to say "Hi."

Hogle Zoo

Adysen and I went to the Zoo with one of my friends and her kids. We enjoyed looking at the animals. There were lots of baby animals at the zoo. Adysen seemed to notice more of the animals this time than she did earlier this summer when we went.

What a Cutie!

Here is an assortment of pictures of Adysen playing. She is so cute! You can also click on the pictures to view them larger. :)

August 28th, 2009 - Playing with tennis balls. Who needs expensive toys when you have a canister of tennis balls.

Adysen loves giving hugs. Sometimes she does it on her own, other times we say "aahhh (or ohhh) a hug?" and she will hug just about anything. We have found this to be a very fun game for her and us.

September 4, 2009 - I love these pictures of Adysen! Okay, I really love all the pictures of Adysen, but these are especially cute. I really like the last one with her tongue sticking out!

September 15th, 2009 - Another great purchase! Adysen can even stack the cups, as long as I help her know which one to do next. She also likes to pretend to drink out of them. So smart!

September 18th, 2009 - More hugs, smiles, and pictures of her two bottom teeth. It won't be long before she will have more teeth!

Happy Grandparents Day!

We want to let all of our grandparents (and Adysen's grandparents :) ) know how much we love you! You are remarkable people! We feel so blessed to have you in our lives. We put together a small collage of Adysen's pictures from the last couple of weeks. She is so much fun and it is hard to believe that she is growing so fast! We love you and miss you!

Pushing a Stroller

At the beginning of September we were playing outside and Adysen saw this stroller. She pushed it almost the entire way around our court. Later we found out that the stroller belongs to one of Aydsen's friends. Since she isn't using it anymore, they let us borrow it for a little while. Adysen loves pushing it around our house, back and forth. As soon as we brought it into our apartment, she even figured out how to put her toys in it and push them around with her.

Red Butte Garden

On Labor Day we went to the Red Butte Garden. It seems that it is free every year on Labor Day since we did the same thing last year. This year, I kept rushing us along because I wanted to see everything. Finally near the end, Alton asked me why I was hurrying so fast. I told him that I remembered the trails being really long last year. He looked at me and reminded me that they were a lot shorter than they appeared to be on the map. I guess the difference was last year I was 8 months pregnant and not in very good shape (we had to make a lot of stops to rest), thus the trails felt really long to me. Now I am used to walking 3 miles each morning and the trails were a lot shorter and easier. I guess we didn't have to rush after all! :)

Adysen enjoyed looking at the flowers. She even picked a snap dragon. She also enjoyed pulling her bow out of her hair and trying to put it back in again. Needless to say we had to backtrack a few times to find the missing blue bow. :)

Don't forget to shut the door!

One morning when I was getting ready, I stepped out of the bathroom for a few minutes to grab something. When I returned I found Adysen playing with the toilet paper. She was so excited and interested in it, that I just had to watch and take pictures.

She even helped me clean up the pieces! What a great helper!
