Big Girl

Adysen is becoming a big girl. She is getting good at telling us what she wants through her actions.

For example, whenever she wants a drink of milk, she goes the the fridge. Takes a few sips of milk. (In this case she came walking across the room as quickly as possible, since she saw the camera. I am having the hardest time taking pictures of Adysen).

Then she walks back to the fridge.

And puts the milk back in by herself. Sometimes she moves things out of the way so that her milk can be in just the right place. Also, she likes us to keep her milk in the fridge while she is eating her meals. Although, I usually just set it next to me so that I don't have to make so many trips back and forth to the fridge. She refuses to keep in on her high chair tray. What a silly girl!

Then, when it is nap time....She grabs her blanket and lamb and walks to her crib. She also does this at night. She is on a really good schedule right now. For a few days she cut back to one nap in the afternoon. But she is back to two naps. About an hour in the morning around 10 or 11 and an hour in the afternoon around 2. It makes it way nice for me so that I have some time to relax. (Which is especially necessary right now being pregnant). She also goes to bed around 8 and wakes up around 8 in the morning.

Trip to Washington

We had a wonderful time in Washington with the Alexanders. Adysen loved cooking with her grandma and watching the cats. She is still calling animals "kitties." It appears that we didn't use our camera very much while we were in Washington. We will have to get some more pictures from the Alexanders and from Jenica.

Here are a couple of Christmas morning:

Making hard candy with Grandma Alexander

Adysen enjoyed sleeping in her Great Grandpa's arms:

We found out that Adysen loves Spaghetti. We are not sure if she chews her noodles, but she sure enjoys slurping them in. :)

We ate at a fancy seafood restaurant in Portland. We also went to Tacoma and ate at Ivar's in the mall. We were excited to find out that we didn't have to drive all the way up to the Pier in Seattle to get our favorite fish & chips and clam chowder.

Christmas Lights

The Smith's came down to Salt Lake and we went to Temple Square to look at the lights. Unfortunately we didn't get any pictures with everyone on our camera. Adysen really did have a good time, just not when we took this picture.

Family Pictures - November 2009

Alton's sister Jenica took some family pictures of us in November. Here are some of the original pictures.

Calene and Eric's Wedding

Here are a few pics from my little sister Calene's wedding in November. We are so happy for them.

Adysen was having a hard time smiling for my pictures.

Awesome table decorations with card holders from www.wirehomedecor.com. :)

Adysen loved the lemons...I think she is taking after me and my mom (and my grandma and aunt). :)

Hey Everyone! So, you might be wondering what happened to us. It has been a crazy couple of months...

Calene and Eric got married the end of November. We had Thanksgiving in Idaho. The wire business kept us really busy around Christmas time. We spent a couple of weeks in Washington with Alton's family for Christmas. I officially quit my online teaching job. And last week Alton starting the spring semester at the U.

Now that I have given the brief synopsis of what we have been doing, I am ready to share my super exciting news.........Yep you have probably already guessed it.....I am pregnant!! :) The baby is due to arrive in July. I just started the second trimester and I am feeling much better. We feel so blessed and are excited to add another member to our family.

I have lots of pictures to post from the last couple of months. I'll try to catch up in the next couple of days. :)

Day 19 - Exercise and Exercising Buddies

I am so grateful to have friends to exercise with. I have been walking every week day (well almost) since the middle of April. When we started it was just one friend and I and our kids. It was great to be able to stroll and work off the baby weight. The time changed and a few more friends joined us and we kept walking through the summer. We went about 3 miles each day. When the weather started cooling off, we decided we needed to do something, but it was getting too cold to walk with our kids during the day. So, we switched to 6:00 AM!! We are also doing the Cool Running: Couch to 5k Running Plan. We are now on week 6 -- Tomorrow we have a 25 minute jog!

By the way -- Anyone is welcome to join us! We would love to have your company at 6:00 AM. Just give me a call and I will give you the rest of the details. :) You can also come and just walk or start at the beginning of the plan or whatever. It is just great to be able to get some exercise in at the beginning of the day!

Besides the physical benefits of exercising, I am also grateful to have wonderful ladies to talk to. This has been awesome for me emotionally! Thanks!! :)

Enough about me...Alton is also grateful for exercising and for having a workout buddy. He works out on campus before or between classes. He has really enjoyed lifting weights. It is been good to have someone to push him and encourage him to do more. :)

Day 18 - Our Kitchen

We are grateful for our kitchen. Those of you who live by us know how small our kitchen is. However, I am very grateful for the space that I do have. I can't even imagine cooking without a stove or oven. I am grateful for our half size oven/stove.

We are also grateful that our kitchen is organized. This week I made drawer organizers out of cardboard so that we can keep our utensils separated. They might not look the greatest, they are functional and free. :)

Day 17 - Christmas Decorations and Music

We love Christmastime! We are grateful that 100.3 FM is playing Christmas music all the time now. I listened to Christmas music all afternoon. Alton has been listening to it since June or July at work (with his headphones of course).

We are also grateful for Christmas decorations. It makes us so happy to see them. I put up the decorations right after Halloween. :)
